The Slow Way

Bob and I did something today that we haven't done before--we walked all the way home from Waterloo Station! It didn't feel that far as we were walking, but it turns out that it's about 7km, so I guess there's a reason we usually take the bus. In any case, we twisted our way home along main roads and side streets and went down quite a few paths that we've never noticed from the bus. I can't remember the last time I saw a bell like this on anything other than a church, but there it was, sandwiched in a small lane in the City:
On a more familiar road, I've passed by this building many, many times on the bus without looking alllllllll the way up to see the horse and rider at the very top:
And we even got a belated dose of Open Garden Squares, as we passed the tiny entrance to Culpeper Community Garden, which participated in last weekend's festivities. A neighbourhood communal garden where residents tend 46 separate plots, Culpeper is a lush oasis near Angel station:
