Punishment Refreshments

Christmas in London means the return of the giant Norwegian Spruce in Trafalgar Square, a beautiful gift to Londoners from the people of Norway. We listened to the carollers for a while

before heading the the RSA, where we had free tickets to their annual architecture lecture, this year given by Richard Rogers, winner of the 2007 Pritzker, and architect of the Pompidou Centre and Lloyd's of London. His lecture, Thoughts on the Design of Cities and Buildings, was both interesting and provoking, and we enjoyed the lecture and the lovely reception of food and drink (also free!) afterwards, both courtesy of the sponsoring Bossom family, some of whom were in attendance this evening. As we were leaving the reception, I thought the bottom notice on this sign was rather awkwardly phrased:
