We headed down to Pure Groove Records tonight for an in-store performance by Tilly & the Wall, a Nebraska band that's playing quite a few dates in London in the next while. Although tonight's performance was short (and slightly annoying, since the advertised "free" in-store began by a record-shop employee walking down the length of the substantial queue, telling people they could jump to the front if they bought the band's CD, and telling anyone who declined that they could take their chances after everyone else was let in--which reminded both of us of the time we were in line for another (ticketed) show and a very pushy person asked a question which seemingly needed no answer: "How wide do you want this queue to be?"), it was still great fun. Okay, I enjoyed the band more than Bob did, but from our vantage point at the very back of the shop, standing on top of chairs, I found Tilly & the Wall's energy pretty undeniably infectious.
