German Gymnasium

We had a bit of a wander through the British Library this afternoon, taking in a few exhibits during our visit. Part of one of the exhibits was being shown on an upper-floor balcony, and we glanced down at the books and people

before leaving the building and walking over to another nearby exhibit, taking place near St Pancras station, in a building called the German Gymnasium.

Originally home to the German Gymnasium Society, established in 1861, the building is said to be the first purpose-built gym in Britain. It's now used as a multi-purpose venue, hosting conferences, meetings, and exhibits like the one we were here to see today.

The installation took place high up, under the rafters of the building, but thankfully not quite as high up as the tightrope-walker featured in the videos!
