Clissold Park was full of life this afternoon, with turtles sunning themselves near the water,

and butterflies feeding on flowers and stinging nettles in the butterfly tunnel.

I know he's made a recent appearance on these pages, but when I passed the goat pen, this little guy hurried over toward me as if to say, "Pick me! Pick me!"

The coots were busy with masses of peeping chicks; in a division of labour, the mums dove into the water in search of food while the dads chased off any ducks that got too close.

The chicks are an odd mixture of super-cute and almost ugly, don't you think?
