In spite of today's freezing temperatures, we decided to bundle up and go for a walk this afternoon. This sign made a decidedly unique choice when it came to its accompanying graphics:

Considering today's weather, this yard of glass appeared a bit ice-like,

and we soon saw the real thing on the canal.

We ended up near Hackney City Farm, and decided to pop in to see how the animals were doing in the cold. A rather fantastic fire greeted us at the entrance, and we warmed up for a bit before going through the gate.

Some of the birds were drinking very icy water,

others peered at us from inside their heat-lamp-warmed quarters,

while another group looked like there were getting ready to take over the place.

About five seconds after I took this photo, the standing pig jumped up on his hind legs and brought his face about a hair's width from the camera!

This much larger pig wasn't quite as agile.

Near the farm, we passed some graffiti, some rather unappetizing,

some kind of cute.

I hope you can just make out the Santa figure in this next photo:

The tiny bit of red plastic faced the enormous drab council estate, and we both thought it looked like he had his work cut out for him!
